Psalm 57

 Steadfast Devotion

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. (v.7)

The dictionary defines steadfast s "firmly fixed in place;
immovable; not subject to change; firm in belief or
determination
."
How steadfast are we?
We seem to change our minds about lots of things-
where we live, what kind of clothes we wear,
who our favorite atheletes happen to be.
Very few people remain steadfast in their ideas
or opinions. Society tends to sway and change
as new ideas come to the forefront.
Yet God shows steadfast love for us
throughout our years. And throughout the changes
in our lives, the challenge for us is to remain steadfast to God.

Familiar Easter hymns of Christmas carols can
bring tears to our etes. Why is that so? i think it is
because throughout the changes of place, family, and age ,
our faith remains with the Lord, When ' Christ the Lord
Is Risen Today" breaks forth from organ and voice,
the feelings of joy or gratitude are gr0ounded
in our memories. God is our only constant in life.
May our faith, planted along or life's journey,
 remain steadfast.

O God, thank you for your steadfast

devotion to me along life's journey. AMEN
